British Heart Foundations: Health at Work This website is designed to support health promoters in the workplace. It contains up-to-date information on physical activity, healthy eating and mental wellbeing, plus lots of ideas, practical tools and downloads for the workplace health promoter to create a health club at work. British Heart Foundation National Centre for Physical Activity and Health At this website you can register to receive monthly physical activity information updates which outline latest developments in the field and provide up-to-date physical activity news. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention The website of the US Governments, Department of Health and Human Services, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has very good US based information, research and resources on many areas including nutrition and physical activity. This Canadian website is an excellent source of information on best practice resources and news about many aspects of physical activity. Center for Science in the Public Interest This a US based organisation advocates for nutrition and health, food safety, alcohol policy and sound science. The site is a good place to find out about American policy initiatives to make it easier for people to eat well, be physically active and maintain a healthy weight. Community Food Security Coalition in North America This website has an extensive range of resources, publications, and programme information about food security. Department of Health, Western Australia The website of the Department of Health, Western Australia fruit and vegetable campaign. Faculty of Public Health (United Kingdom) This website contains an advocacy section with links publications on various public health issues including food security, food labelling, obesity, physical activity, climate change and workplace health. Find 30 is a Western Australia campaign promoting physical activity through television advertisements and community events. The Food Ethics Council is an independent research and advocacy group established in 1998 in Britain. Its aims are to make the food system fairer and healthier from farm to fork. This site has very interesting reports to stimulate debate and encourage ethical decision making about topical food and agricultural issues. Food Politics is a website led by world renowned public health nutritionist and author Marion Nestle. It provides topical information on the politics of food and includes a daily blog of public health nutrition issues being discussed in the United States media. This website was developed by the Australian government's Department of Health and Aging to provide access to practical information for families, parents, teenagers, children and their carers on healthy eating, physical activity and exercise.
