Food Security LinksThese pages have been designed as a resource for those with a directive to promote food security, and are likely to grow as work in this area increases. NationalANA Food Security Seminar 2006 The purpose of this half day seminar was to raise awareness about food security in New Zealand and to discuss a range of interventions in different settings. Presentations can be downloaded. This link to the Food Price Index provides surveillance of the rate at which food prices change in New Zealand. A source of tools and research on addressing food security among Māori in Aotearoa. InternationalCommunity Food Security Coalition This North American website contains links to publications, newsletter and events designed for people and organisations working to build community food security. Food 2030 looks at the food produced and consumed in the UK, and how global food production can be increased in a sustainable way. These web pages provide an opportunity to discuss the challenges and other issues affecting the food system. Food and Agricultural Organisation of the United Nations This site provides publications and research on global food security and its wider determinants. A Philadelphia-based advocacy organisation, the website contains links to projects and research conducted by the Trust with the aim of increasing access to nutritious foods and advocating for better public policies. This large scale project links science across a wide range of disciplines to inform a strategic review on tackling obesity. The International Food Security Networks Project The International Food Security Networks Project website contains information and publications on food security from a global perspective. This American based advocacy group has released a number of publications and resources on food security. Visit their 'What you should know' section to access these recourses and publications, along with links to other useful websites. Australia based, SecondBite, is committed to making a positive difference to people by identifying sources of nutritious surplus fresh food and produce that might otherwise go to waste and facilitating its safe and timely distribution to agencies and people in need. This site also has links to various food security publications. The UK Food Group is the leading UK network for non-governmental organisations working on global food and agriculture issues. This site provides an overview of food security and how local councils can be involved in improving food access. The site also contains other useful links related to food security. Victorian Local Government: Food Security Network This networks was established to support people and local governments in addressing food security issues at a local level. The site contains an online library or articles related to food security.
